C.</p> mag mag 1809-2009 -Schönbrunn Peace Treaty ven, 05 mar 2010 00.00.00 GMT 2010-03-05 http://www.davidepedersoli.com/default.aspx?item=news&lang=en&news=l544mabk Ten Years Collection On the two hundredth anniversary of those events, and in the sixth year of the “Ten years of collection” project, Davide Pedersoli has reproduced the gendarmerie pistol An IX model. <p style="text-align: center;"><img src="newsEn/l544mabk_broc_gendarmerie_prew.jpg" alt="prew" /></p> <h1><strong>Sch&ouml;nbrunn Peace Treaty</strong></h1> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>During the year of 1809 Napoleon&rsquo;s campaigns saw the opposing formations engaged on different battle lines, from the Portuguese and Spanish line to the Austrian one.</p> <p>In Portugal the English troops of John Moore defeated the French troops of General Soult at Sahagun and Benavente as well as at La Coruna, where they were headed to sail and leave the country.</p> <p>Around Madrid the Duke Intifado&rsquo;s army was grouping at the order of the General Venegas, but the efforts to react to the French occupation were continuously unsuccessful like in the Ucl&eacute;s&rsquo; battle on the 13th of January, where the French General Victor&rsquo;s army scattered the Spanish forces.</p> <p>On the 20th of February the French troops of General Moncey concluded the Saragozza siege, that in spite of the long and brave defense made by the Spanish General Palafox, was reduced in fire plus the loss of thousands of Spanish fallen heroes.</p> <p>In March Soult started the second invasion of Portugal and after being held up at the Mi&ntilde;o river by the Portuguese militias, he succeeded conquering the towns of Chaves, Braga and Oporto.</p> <p>In April Wellington returned to Portugal to reinforce his own army with reconstituted regiments and with English help Miguel Pereira Forjaz defeated Soult in the battles of Grijo and Oporto (May 10-11 and 12) and marched into Spain to join Gregorio Cuesta&rsquo;s army intending to join with General Victor&rsquo;s troops at Talavera. However the lack of proper communications between the two commandants enabled the French army to vanish intact. Cuesta tried again on the 26th of July, but nothing he could do was able to overcome the French army, which in the meantime had been reinforced by Giuseppe Bonaparte. On the 27th of July in the Talavera de la Reina&rsquo;s battle the French army was turned back several times by the British infantry but still remained a strong fighting force. <br /> Before the end of the year the Spanish were defeated in the battles of Oca&ntilde;a and Alba de Tormes.<br /> On April Napoleon gave the army command back to his marshals and returned to France following the news that the Austrians were re-arming. Charles of Austria, in fact, encouraged by the English and imposing new enrolments in Bavaria, Saxony, Holland and the Great Dukedom of Warsaw, formed the fifth Coalition against France.</p> <p>The re-organisation of the Austrian army was intended to overturn the unfavourable situation which resulted after the defeat in the previous wars of the third Coalition (alliance in the 1805 with Great Britain, Russian Empire, Naples and Sweden reign) and of the fourth Coalition (1806-1807, Friedland battle and Tilsit treaty) during which the Russians and Prussians were not of much help to the Austrians, being inferior in numbers against the great French army.</p> <p>Only a few days were enough to Napoleon to get hold of the situation and prepare his battle plans.</p> <p>The military campaign of the fifth Coalition, started with a massive shift of the Austrian troops towards Bavaria and produced in a few months several clashes between the two forces at Ratisbona (April ) plus Aspern and Essling (May 20). The final action was set in motion when the Archduke Charles retreated back to the Danube grouping together his army in the Wagram flat land, while the French occupied the Lobau island whose entrenched area was used to treat and protect the wounded. The decisive battle, which has been defined as the greatest of the Napoleonic wars, occurred between the 5th and the 6th of July exactly around Lobau island and the Deutsch-Wagram village, 15 kilometres North-East from Wien. The employment of the French artillery in a superb manner and the infantry tactics seen in the surrounding actions resulted in determining the victorious conclusion for the French led by Napoleon himself and commanded by the Marshal Andrea Massena.</p> <p>After the armistice signed in the Bohemian town of Znaim to which the Austrians were obliged to retreat, on the 14th of October, the delegates of both empires signed the Sch&ouml;nbrunn peace treaty (or Wien treaty). Austria had to recognize Giuseppe Bonaparte as sovereign of Spain, had to give important territories to the Italian reign and to France, had to pay a war indemnity and had to reduce the number of soldiers in its army.</p> <p>The Sch&ouml;nbrunn&rsquo;s treaty underlined how the 5th coalition against France failed and how Napoleon had reached his greatest military and political power.</p> <p>On the two hundredth anniversary of those events, and in the sixth year of the &ldquo;Ten years of collection&rdquo; project, Davide Pedersoli has reproduced the gendarmerie pistol An IX model. As was the custom for the guns addressed to the cavalry, it was manufactured in pairs and until 1819 the imperial manufacture of Maubeuge produced 32,000 pairs.</p> <p>Notwithstanding the denomination of the pistol to the gendarmerie, it was common to equip also the infantry officers with this little pistol. The gun is .15,2mm calibre, 128mm barrel&rsquo;s length: the overall length is 250mm. On the grip it is encrusted with a medal that reproduces a medal coined to celebrate the Sch&ouml;nbrunn peace treaty: at the center is the heroes&rsquo; silhouette holding a lighted torch in the left hand pointing to a bunch of destroyed guns, while with the right hand is putting an olive branch on the peace altar.</p> <p>The gun is supplied with an Authenticity Certificate on parchment paper for the limited edition of five hundred guns addressed to the French, Italian and German collectors.</p> <p>The single or double pistol case is available upon request. Yee <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The 2010 Shot Show by all accounts has been an overwhelming success. Vender's and attendees alike constantly commented on the exceptional turnout (nearly an all time record) and enthusiasm expressed by all. As the newly appointed Pedersoli Competition and Events coordinator for the United States I had the good fortune to attend and Represent Pedersoli products in the Italian Pavilion sponsored by the Brescia Italy Chamber of commerce and various Italian manufacturing interests.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Italian offerings are certainly impressive. During the four show days I was able to closely examine many firearms and accessories available from these fine companies. As I am representing Pedersoli special attention was given to this incredible line of reproduction firearms and accessories. With nearly 100 firearms on display and countless accessories it was easy to understand the significant place that the Pedersoli Company holds in the United States market place.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>All of the United States Pedersoli Distributors I came in contact with enjoy a special family relationship with the principals of the company. Pierangelo Pedersoli and son Stefano were nearly overwhelmed at times from the many personal and business contacts they have developed.&nbsp; Gloria Ardesi spent many hours managing the details of this very successful 2010 shot show.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>New products are the life blood of any manufacturing company. 2009 and 2010 have been no exception for the Pedersoli Company. Last years introduction of the Pedersoli Classic and Sporting High Wall&nbsp;lead to extensive testing by American shooter Ken Durham and a well produced presentation outlining the excellent results were presented at the show. Pedersoli Lightning rifles continue to spark interest with their smooth function actions and attention to detail. The new Pedersoli Lightening Sporter with its larger stock and long straight butt plate make it an excellent addition to the line for those cowboy shooters looking for an easier to shoulder rifle.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;Brand new for this year Pedersoli is introducing several premier firearms.&nbsp; The Companies first lever action rifle will be available later this year, an outstanding reproduction of the Winchester Mod 71. Initially this pistol gripped, half magazine, twenty four inch barreled, and walnut stocked rifle will be available in 45/70 cal. The prototype rifle finished two weeks prior to the show was on display. This classic lever action&nbsp;big bore weapon is certain to set a high mark in the market place. My personal favorite new introduction would be the coach gun designated as the Wyatt Earp and I believe it will be the standard others are judged by. Out of the box features include oiled walnut finish, checkered Prince of Wales grip, case colored receiver, and High Colt style hammers. While the features are great they pale in comparison to the smooth operation of the firearm.&nbsp; With a single handed grip the shooter can smoothly drop the barrels and snap them crisply back closed with hammers down or cocked. The high hammers allow cocking of both with the palm of one hand. Loading and unloading will be easily accomplished as the open firearm allows plenty of clearance. Barrels are choked Improved and Modified.</p> <p>Most cowboy shooters will find this gun competitive as it is delivered from the factory. Also on display was the first of three models of .22 cal sharps rifles. This quick handling .22cal designated the Sharps Light will provide the shooter a smaller lighter Sharps rifle in an inexpensive caliber. The most notable difference when comparing with other available .22 cal Sharps rifles is the nearly full size action and triggers. Two target versions available later this year will feature Lothar Walther barrels.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In the competitive world of muzzle loading&nbsp;shooting Pedersoli continues to lead the way. I was able to visit with many shooters about their successes shooting Pedersoli Muzzle loaders. Pedersoli Gibbs Rifles are the standard in Long Range Target Shooting and continue to win matches and set new records.&nbsp; For the shooter who likes the style of the Gibbs rifle the Gibbs African Hunter provides an incredible .72 cal/12 bore rifled ball gun. This display gun attracted many interested hunters to the Pedersoli booth. Equipped with a ghost ring style tang sight this rifle has been proving itself on the plains of Africa for the past couple of years and with the interest seen at the show it should become a regular hunting gun here in the America's as well. With the Pedersoli recommended loading of 90-120 grs of black powder with a .715 round ball patched with .010 patches I see no reason why this gun would not be capable of taking any North American game animal.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Howdah pistols whisk the imagination to far away places and adventures. It seems many shooters are&nbsp;finding&nbsp;reasons to own the massive and powerful double barrel pistol. An incredible deluxe engraved version with faux etched Damascus barrels was a show favorite. This stunning example of craftsmanship caught the eye of many show attendees. The barrel is obstructed by several steel<br />pins to prevent the introduction of any kind of bullets. The ignited powder<br />will enable the scenic shot during the re-enactment events.<br />The lock is working and the stock is made of fine grain walnut wood,<br />exactly like our regular working models. An event with a planetary character, making it always very important especially if the results confirm the right recognition to those who perform the work with a professional attitude. At Davide Pedersoli we can just be very satisfied, analysing the results obtained at the Bordeaux competitions: thirteen gold medals, eleven silver medals and still eleven more bronze medals, almost equally distributed among the individual disciplines and those performed by the teams.</p> <p>Thirty five medals are a real record, outnumbering those achieved at the last World MLAIC Championships held in Batesville USA two years ago. Complete success at 25 meters range in the Cominazzo R discipline where the Mortimer pistol won the gold medal in the skilled hands of the Austrian shooter Alexander Kaltenback, followed by the French shooter Pascal Mainchin and from the same country Herbert Wagner, both shooting with Pedersoli Le Page pistols. Mainchin contributed together with Jean-Pierre Bonnet also shooting with a Le Page pistol at the victory of the French team in the Wogdon discipline where a new world record was set with 267 points; the silver medal , thanks also to Kaltenback, was won by the Austrian Team. The comparison among the percussion pistols bronze medal to Brian Charles Gould (98/100) from New Zealand with his Kuchenreuter in the same name R discipline, victory and official recognition of the new world record in the Forsyth discipline for the Italian team, the merit also of Alberto Lega with his Mang in Graz pistol. The third place of the Forsyth discipline went to the Austrian team, in which one shooter was shooting with the Le Page pistol.</p> <p>At 50 meters the shooting range thundered again as the Pedersoli Brown Bess musket in the Miquelet R discipline: gold and bronze to the French shooters Noel Risch and Maurice Gilbert, also silver medal to their team in the new Halikko discipline. In the Vetterli R discipline, the supremacy of the German shooter Walter Massing cannot be overlooked as well as the maximum achievable result, like the German lady shooter Tordis-Arlette Nitsch, silver medal she shot with a Bristlen Morges rifle .35 caliber. In the Vetterli discipline, there have been two experimental competitions, even if not completely new: in the Young section a gold medal to the young French shooter Mathieu Ducellier (95 points) competing with a Pedersoli Bristlen rifle, while in the Flintlock section the Austrian shooter Andreas Gassner won the bronze medal shooting with the J&auml;ger Target rifle. The Pforzheim discipline brought the gold, silver and bronze medals to the Pedersoli's guns, respectively the German team (Bristlen Morges), the English team (Waadtlander) and the Italian team, with the contribution of Gualtiero Nava with his Bristlen rifle.</p> <p>In the more challenging disciplines at 100 meters it is worth to mentioning the magnificent gold medal of the lady shooter Elisabeth Reiser from Switzerland in the Mini&eacute; R discipline, with the W&uuml;rttembergischen rifle she scored 96 points equaling the current world record, unbeaten since 1994. The beautiful reproduction of the antique ordnance rifle of the W&uuml;rttemberg land was also on the podium in the new Magenta discipline, contributing to the gold medal for the French team (formalizing a new world record with 274 points),the Silver medal with the Swiss team and the bronze medal the German team. In the Maximilian R discipline, the silver medal went to the Norwegian shooter Per Ivan &Ouml;stby and the bronze to the Frenchman Claude Delacoudre, both competing with the Mortimer flintlock rifle .54 caliber. The Lucca team discipline groups the shooters of the Maximilian R discipline, also on this occasion: gold, silver and bronze medals with the Pedersoli Mortimer rifle .54 caliber. Respectively the classification was for the French team (new world record with 268 points), the Norwegian and the German teams. Another Mortimer rifle in the Whitworth configuration, percussion model, shot by Birgitta Hillv&auml;rn, contributed to the winning of the bronze medal for the Swedish team in the Rigby discipline. Finally, the medal won in the clay target shooting: gold with a new world record (47/50) to the Italian Moreno Boni; silver to the German Franz Lotspeich in the Manton R and bronze to Lotspeich in the Lorenzoni R, also gold to the young French Jeremy Bedos in the experimental Lorenzoni Young (competition fired on 25 clay targets). The French team won the gold making the new world record in the Batesville discipline, where the Italian team won the silver. Silver also to the German team in the Hawker discipline.</p> <p>In all the medals won in the clay target competitions the Mortimer rifle is always there: either in the percussion or the flintlock versions. This elegant shotgun of English origin confirms once again its accuracy also in the most classic version with the smooth bore barrel. It is not only the Mortimer rifle or shotgun versions that symbolize the quality of Pedersoli production: you do not want to forget the names of the Brown Bess, Bristlen A. Morges, Waadtl&auml;nder, J&auml;ger Target and W&uuml;rttembergischen and for the pistols, Mortimer, Le Page, Mang in Graz and Kuchenreuter. Looking at the several shooters classifying at the fourth place, we can find also the Gibbs rifle, protagonist of many records in the Long Range Target shooting. The rifle held by the South African lady Corena De Beer in the Walkyrie discipline, achieved the same score (95) as the bronze medal, only with a lager group of 1.5mm, enough to miss the podium. Little misfortunes that the shooters know well, like the Austrian Andreas Gassner with his Bristlen, fourth place in the Vetterli (98 points) just one millimetre difference. The conclusion is a series of prestigious results. During the ceremony the king referring to the iron crown he was placing on his head, said the famous sentence " God gave it to me, woe be to those who would touch it".</p> <p>The crowning and the new Reign represented the final act of historic events starting with the first Italian Campaign, during which Napoleon re-organizing the conquered territories in 1796 and in the drive against Austria, instituted the Transpadania Republic and the Cispadania Republic, respectively North and South of the P&ograve; river. On June 29, 1797 the two Republics were united in the Cisalpine Republic and the French domination in Italy extended to include the Liguria republic and the occupation of Venice, which was surrendered from Austrian control to France after the peace act in Capoformio (October 17, 1797).</p> <p>The second campaign in Italy to fight the Austrian enemy, lead to the Battle of Marengo (June 14, 1800)&nbsp; and to the peace act signed at Luneville (February 8, 1801) which was merely a definition and a completion of what was decided at Campoformio. At the beginning of 1802 Italy was more than ever under the French control and the Cisalpine Republic became the Italian Republic.</p> <p>With his crowning as King of Italy, Napoleon agreed to an alliance with Spain and transformed the Italian Republic into the Kingdom of Italy. The new kingdom included the Lombardia, the former Venetian Republic, the Trentino, the Alto Adige, the Romagna, the Marche and the Emilia, except for the Dukedoms of Parma and Piacenza, becoming French departments together with Piemonte, Liguria, Toscana, Umbria and Lazio. On the throne as vice king was Eugenie de Beauharnais.</p> <p>In 2005 Davide Pedersoli Co. wants to celebrate this event of Napoleonic history with a limited series of the AN XIII pistol, a date that according to the French Republican calendar sends us back&nbsp; two centuries (23rd of September 1804 - 22 September 1805).</p> <p>In fact according to the French calendar the 1805 year coincided with the XIII year of the new republic (September 23, 1804 - September 22, 1805) therefore the anniversary is dedicated also to that dating system, adopted the 5th of October 1793, but in affect from the 22th of September 1792 when the Republic was founded and before the 1st of January 1806, when the XIV year ended because the Gregorian calendar was re-adopted at that time. <br />Also the original AN XIII model started its adventures exactly in 1805, when the Tulle's arsenal, which originally&nbsp; only&nbsp; produced guns for the Navy, was ordered to produce pistols for the Army. The pistol was produced also in the arsenals of Saint Etienne, Charleville, Maubeuge, Versailles, Torino, Brescia and was used by all the Napoleon cavalry corps, from the light weight corps (hunters, hussars, lancers) and those of the line (cuirassiers, carabineers, grenadiers, dragoons and horse riding artillery).</p> <p>The 500 examples of the AN XIII commemorative pistol introduced by Davide Pedersoli Co. will be specially prepared and marked for the French, German and Italian collectors with three numbering series: I001- I200 for Italy, F001 - F200 for France and D001 - D100 for Germany.</p> <p>The gun is presented in a handsome wood case with glass lid, which has an inside velveteen lining of Italian green colour. On the lock there is engraved the writing "Manifattura Reale di Brescia" (Royal Brescia Manufacture) a very important reference to remember from the past which like today shows the antique gunsmithing tradition of Brescia. World Muzzleloading Championship held from August 22 to 28, 2004 in Batesville, Indiana, U.S.A was an event in which Pedersoli guns again collected the majority of medals.</p> <p>The guns that have conquered the podium are already part of a legend and their names are going to be everlasting: Le Page and Mortimer pistols, Brown Bess and 1777 muskets, Bristlen Morges, Tryon Creedmoor and Mortimer rifles. Really accurate guns, produced by a company already famous for it's quality, accuracy and medal winning capabilities.</p> <p>The medals won by the guns produced by Pedersoli are thirty-one, a true record: thirteen gold, ten silver and eight bronze, distributed to Pedersoli shooters in twelve disciplines. Among these also two new disciplines, which are not yet a part of the official international shooting but which captured great interest and participation, particularly among the younger shooters.</p> <p>One of the new entries has been the Pedersoli-Pennsylvania competition for the flintlock rifle, which is fired in the standing position, at the 50 meter target. This is a discipline sponsored by Pedersoli Company, which by the Pennsylvania name, is known at national level in Italy and with some variations is also known in other European countries.</p> <p>The podium in Batesville was swept clean by the Mortimer rifle: gold to the German shooter Walter Massing, silver to the French Noel Risch and bronze to the American Eugene Kinnel.</p> <p>Pierangelo Pedersoli was glad to be there to personally give the medals to the winners.</p> <p>The second of the new disciplines is the Soper discipline, a kind of Vetterli Junior that received a good response among the young shooters: gold medal to the young French Huges Alvernhe, who with the Bristlen rifle scored 95. While not an impressive score compared to what we saw in the Vetterli discipline, it was enough to create an excitement and encouragement to believe in and continue in a wonderful sport.</p> <p>The Le Page flintlock pistols won the gold, silver and bronze medals in the Cominazzo discipline with the Italian shooter Marcello Lepore, the New Zealander Brian Gould and the German Manfred Kimmele; gold and silver have been repeated in the team disciplines Wogdon with Austrian and French shooters. In the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa , Mexico, Europe, South and Central America and countless other regions, you will find that there are national and regional organizations sponsoring various types of shooting contests for black powder muzzle loading and cartridge type rifles, shotguns and hand guns.</h4> <p>When you join your national organization you are supporting their efforts in protecting your shooting and firearms rights. You will receive their publications , be allowed to join their competitions and also meet others who enjoy shooting and collecting the type of black powder firearms you are interested in.</p> <p>In the USA, Mexico and other countries there is a form of competition called "Silhouette" shooting. Steel animals in the shape of a Chicken, Pig, Turkey and a Ram are set atop steel rails at 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters distance. Shooters attempt to knock these animals off the rails. The Chickens at 200 meters are fired upon from the standing (offhand) position but the other distances are fired with the rifle resting on crossed sticks.</p> <p>Long range shooting at paper bulls-eye targets is done at various distances out to 1000 yards. In the USA the mid-range target rifle matches are fired out to 600 yards and the long-range Creedmoor matches are fired at 800,900 and 1000 yards. In other countries different distances may be used.</p> <p>In the USA and other countries there are matches which require the use of old style military rifles for "reenactment" shooting events and Pedersoli is the worlds largest maker of this type of replica firearm.</p> <p>Each country or organization may have different rules regarding equipment to be used. In the USA (National Rifle Association) the rifles used for Silhouette matches cannot weigh in at more than 12 pounds 2.0 ounces. Any "original" black powder caliber is allowed but the rifle must have an exposed hammer.</p> <p>For the paper target matches, any original or replica black powder rifle can be used and there is no restriction on hammer design but weight must be under 15 pounds.</p> <p>For "reenactment" type of competition an original or replica of famous muzzle loading or cartridge military rifles is required.</p> <p>To meet the needs of shooters in these types of competition events, Davide Pedersoli &amp; Co.offers a wide range of famous flint lock and percussion lock muzzle loading muskets, carbines and rifles. Many are available with the double set triggers demanded by serious long range shooters.</p> <p>In order to keep under the Silhouette weight limit of 12 lb. 2 oz. we suggest the 30 inch barrel length be used. Longer barrel lengths are a bit too heavy and become difficult to manage when in the standing (offhand) required for the 200m. Chickens. Longer barrels are not more accurate but do provide a longer sight radius which is an advantage in paper target shooting on cross sticks.</p> <h2>Minute of angle challenge</h2> <p>The higher quality black powder cartridge rifles were capable of remarkable accuracy at long ranges and some of the records set over 120 years ago at Creedmoor, Wimbledon, Bisley, Dollymount, Walnut Hill and other famous shooting ranges have never been broken ! Rifle shooters then and now speak in terms of "minutes of angle" when referring to elevation or windage changes and any modern or antique rifle which can shoot many shots into "one minute of angle" is considered to be a very accurate rifle indeed. At 100 yards one minute equals approximately 1.0 inch, 200 yards equals 2.0 inches and so on for longer yardage.</p> <p>Many shooters are able to fire 8 to 10 shots inside one minute of angle (MoA) but that unexpected gust of wind or other factor usually spoils their attempt at long strings of shots inside one MoA. However........with careful preparation , good shooting conditions and an above average amount of skill, a good marksman can do it with a small caliber black powder rifle. Shooting MoA with a large caliber black powder rifle is more difficult but can also be done.</p> <p>Davide Pedersoli &amp; Co. throws out the challenge to any shooter, anywhere in the world, using any brand of rifle which meets the rules requirements, and will award a handsome bronze plaque which recognizes the skill and accomplishment of any shooter using iron sights or telescopic sights (separate awards for each class) who is able to fire 20 consecutive shots in one shooting session inside one MoA. The rules are given below:</p> <h3>MINUTE OF ANGLE CHALLENGE RULES</h3> <p>No entry fee or form required. Prizes will be awarded for both iron and scope sighted rifles and every winner will receive a bronze plaque. Each year a new contest will start.</p> <p>1. Rifle to be .40 caliber or larger .</p> <p>2. Any rifle legal for (US) NRA silhouette, mid-range, long-range or Creedmoor matches may be used but an exposed hammer is required.</p> <p>3. Any pure black powder load will be allowed. No Pyrodex, duplex loadings or substitute BP allowed.</p> <p>4. Only cast or swaged lead or lead alloy bullets allowed. No jacketed bullets or gas checks allowed.</p> <p>5. Winners will supply two nice photos showing him/her with rifle used and the four targets or groups displayed. Sign a simple statement granting the right to use the photos in publicity releases. Full technical details of the rifle, groove diameter or caliber dimension, weight, type of sights used, shooting method and ammunition components and assembly data are required to be furnished.</p> <p>6. The challenge is to fire 5 shots into each of 4 consecutive targets, or four 5 shot groups onto a single paper target on which the four groups can be properly separated, during one day's shooting session and each of the 4 group sizes must measure one minute of angle or smaller, for that shooting distance. Unlimited sighter shots on another target may be fired. The shooter and a range officer or club official are to sign off on each of the 4 targets or a single target stating each 5 shot group was fired at the stated distance and in a consecutive manner, and, the center to center distance size of each group is ONE MINUTE OF ANGLE or less for the distance being fired. The size of One Minute of Angle using the yards system will be as follows: 100 yards = 1.047"; 200 yards = 2.094"; 300 yards = 3.141"; 400 yards = 4.188"; 500 yards = 5.24". Shooters using the metric system will use the following MoA sizes given in inches : 100 meters = 1.08"; 200 meters = 2.16"; 300 meters = 3.25"; 400 meters= 4.53"; 500 meters = 5.66". Shooter and range officer (or club official) will determine to their own satisfaction, the center to center distance of each group by using any type transparent overlay or measuring device which does NOT enter the bullet hole. Any target which shows evidence of a plug or device having entered a bullet hole will be disqualified. Target judging will be performed by the High Power Rifle Team members at the Wyoming Antelope Club (NRA affiliate) located in Pinellas Park, Florida USA.</p> <h2>Pedersoli awards for competitions in the USA</h2> <p>In the USA (only) the National Rifle Association (NRA) runs and sanctions four types of black powder cartridge rifle matches. These are Silhouette, Mid-Range, Long-Range and Creedmoor matches. Competitors in all four of these matches are eligible to win various awards and the details are listed below.</p> <p>Any three shooters can form a Pedersoli Team at a State, Regional or National Championship BPCR Match . They must be shooting a Pedersoli brand BPCR . The team may enter any match which allows team entries and may enter one or more of these events at a State, Regional or National Championship match. The prizes will be awarded for events won in one calendar year.
